23km
From Huizen you bike via Muiden, Weesp and Naarden to Amsterdam. Huizen itself is adjacent to the Beverly Hills nature reserve, a beautiful forest and heath area.
Our capital city, Amsterdam, offers a warm welcome with numerous romantic canals, bridges, historic buildings, more than 600,000 bicycles and a vibrant nightlife. There’s so much to see and do, almost too much to mention. From art, culture, entertainment or just looking around. A canal boat trip gives an opportunity to see the canal buildings even better.
56km
This lovely trip takes you along the waterfront of the Hoornsche Hop and Lake Markermeer past and through villages such as Monnickendam, Edam and Volendam. Volendam offers many shops to browse around, restaurants and cafes, where hundreds of tourists every day enjoy the authentic atmosphere and the view of the historic harbor.
43km
The cycle route continues along the coast of the former Zuiderzee. Cozy old villages are plenty in this part of West-Friesland with farms and mills, large fields with all kinds of vegetables, especially many types of cabbage and onions. Towns such as Hoorn, Enkhuizen Zuiderzee with its outdoor and Medemblik are really worth seeing.
59km
Today you will cycle along the shores of the IJsselmeer, the West Friesland and the Wieringermeer to Den Oever. At Den Oever the Afsluitdijk (which is in the top 20 of the largest dams in the world) begins with the almost endless expanses of water from the IJsselmeer (fresh water) and the Wadden Sea (salt water). When you’re on the Afsluitdijk is still only a very short way to Makkum.
46km
Your bike route continues along the IJsselmeer coast again and goes to the most south-westerly tip of Friesland, the pretty former Hanseatic town Stavoren. You continue through the interesting old towns Workum (with the Jopie Huisman Museum) and Hindeloopen. Between Piaam and Gaast on the IJsselmeer side is a large natural area. At the end of the day you arrive at your hotel in the small village of Oudemirdum.
61km
Through undulating and woody Gaasterland you will cycle away from Oudemirdum. You’ll ride in upper-Overijssel, a contiguous wetland peat bog area called De Wieden and the Weerribben. Lemmer is a hive of activity with pleasure in the summer season. You will end your day in Zwartsluis.
61km
Along the north side of the Veluwe with on your right hand the Veluwerandmeren (Veluwe Border Lakes) you cycle through Genemuiden, Ijsselmuiden, the old Kamperzeedijken and through the beautiful city of Kampen with its beautiful city gates on the IJsselmeer side to Harderwijk.
45km
From Harderwijk you’ll cycle along the banks of the Veluwe Border Lakes. The greatest charm of this area is the combination of wood, water and polders.
After enjoying your breakfast you will return home again.
